Effective engagement in fragile states
Fragile states require different approaches to development than those applied in better performing countries. The ten Principles for Good International Engagement in Fragile States and Situations About the Fragile States Principles (or Fragile States Principles) are designed to prioritise prevention and highlight the importance of acting while staying engaged long enough to give success a chance. Since 2009, we've been monitoring adherence to these principles through surveys in which fragile states voluntarily participate.

International Dialogue and partnerships
The International Dialogue on Peacebuilding and Statebuilding is the first forum for political dialogue to bring together conflict-affected and fragile countries, international partners and civil society to catalyse successful transitions from conflict and fragility. This forum drives political momentum for change through strong partnership, innovation and mutual accountability for results. It provides support to the global voice of fragile states and promotes solutions based on country-ownership and a comprehensive approach to development and security issues.
