Policy Dialogue on Women’s Economic Empowerment

25 January 2018  OECD, Paris

The OECD welcomed representatives from around the globe to address women’s unpaid care and domestic work and promote women's economic empowerment.

Participants explored ways to recognise, reduce and redistribute unpaid care work through these four key policy domains:

  • Public services
  • Infrastructure
  • Social protection
  • Promotion of shared responsibility within the household

The objective of the Policy Dialogue was to generate data, evidence and policy guidance on “what works” to promote women’s economic empowerment and well-being in low- and middle-income countries.
