- Creating an entrepreneurial school
- Rationale and general information
The vision of the school is to become a school that enables each and every student to optimally use all their potentials in order to develop as an entrepreneurial person.
Its mission is to constantly improve school ethos, teaching methodology and quality of extracurricular activities in order to create an attractive, challenging and creative learning environment and enable development of key competences for lifelong learning. We need to ensure permanent teacher development and establish close cooperation with local community, entrepreneurs and local companies.

- Budget and financing sources
Becoming a SEECEL pilot school, the school received financial aid to implement its vision of change and to become an entrepreneurial school.
- Human resources
A great challenge for the implementation of the change was a lack of human resources (both teachers and students)
The initiative came from the newly appointed school head who has been deeply involved in the theoretical aspects of entrepreneurial education in different ways for many years, and got a chance to initiate and lead a change in practice.
Main objective: to initiate, lead and support a change that would direct school curriculum toward entrepreneurial learning, and eventually switch from traditional to entrepreneurial school.
From the very start, key strategy was to include every member of the school staff and all students in the change.
Specifically, during various stages of implementation different teachers groups were in the focus of activities:
- 1st phase – Pilot institution in regional SEECEL project - language teachers at ISCED level 2 for teaching activities, all teachers for extra - curricular activities
- 2nd phase – all teachers, (EL became officially recognised as a cross - curricular subject at all levels in Montenegro)
- 3rd phase – second round of piloting – ISCED level 1 teachers - all subjects.
South East European Centre for Entrepreneurial
Learning (SEECEL): leading the Regional EL project and providing support for the implementation.
Bureau for Educational Services: support for teacher trainings and for implementation of EL as a cross – curricular subject.
Local public institutions, enterprises and NGO-s: helped in various ways, acted as partners or provided support.
- Success factors
The school successfully started the shift towards entrepreneurial school
- It was recognized as an example of good practice
- The school’s success has contributed to a change at the state level
- The motivation to continue the change and improvements is very high
- School curriculum is adjusted to entrepreneurial learning
- Teachers are aware of the importance of EL and motivated to provide it
- Teacher are competent to organize learning activities in the function of improving entrepreneurial competence of their students
- Teaching / learning activities are supporting development of a entrepreneurship as a key competence for lifelong learning
- Every student has an opportunity to develop entrepreneurial literacy through curricular and / or extracurricular activities
- Teacher training and other means of professional development related to entrepreneurship is available at school
- School is recognized as an centre of excellence and became a mentor for the schools in Montenegro
